Research Reactor
The (CPF) program concentrates on:- Human health sector:- The health sector policy stresses the need for improvement of primary and preventive health care. The Government programmers in the sector include the development of adequate capabilities for medical diagnosis prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases. In the context of its co-operation with the IAEA, the Government accords a special attention to the areas of nuclear medicine and radiation oncology. The national and Regional Projects Related to health are as follows:- |
- Sustainability of healthcare services in nuclear medicine and radiation (LIB/6/003)
- Strengthening national capabilities in medical physics (LIB/6/004)
- Management of the most common cancers in Africa (AFRA II-4) (RAF/6/024)
- Application of Nuclear medicine techniques (RAF/6/026)
- Strengthening regional capability in medical physics (ARFA II-5) (RAF/6/027)
Food and Agriculture
The country's objective is to increase agriculture production and improving milk and meat production, and the following projects stress this subject: - Establishing a Drip Irrigation-fustigation System Using Nuclear techniques (LIB/5/010) E1 New.
- Increasing and Improving Milk and Meat Production (AFRA III-2) (RAF/5/046) E3 Extension.
- Increasing Production of Nutrition Food through Mutation Mutation Breeding and Biotechnology (AFRA III-3) (RAF/5/050) E2 Continuation.
Management of Water Resources Due to the scarcity of water in the country, a particular intention has been paid to find solution to this problem through the following projects: - Evaluating water resources of the north-western Sahara aquifer system (RAF/8/035)
- Sustainable development of the Nubian aquifer (RAF/8/036)
- Isotope hydrology integration in the water sector (RAF/8/034)
- Isotope Hydrology for Groundwater Recourses Management (LIB/8/006)
- Investigating Dam and Reservoir Leakages and Safety (RAF/8/028)
The following are the active projects for the environment: - Contamination Assessment of the South Mediterranean Sea (LIB/7/004)
- Enhancing National capabilities in the field of Radiation Protection (LIB/9/012)
- Radiation Processing for Materials and Environment Application (RAF/8/033) .
